Teaching the Teachers - Impacting the lives of CareGivers and children alike

The trainer and participants at the end of the training

In February 2020, I had the privilege of training 12 CareGivers who teach Genesis Design to the children at the Christ’s Hope International CarePoint in Mathare. There was so much engagement from the attendees that I had to schedule more sessions and come back again! The attendees and I acknowledged that they had something new to learn every time they learnt the Genesis Design Curriculum. Some have attended training many times over the last 5 years. It has been simply life-transforming for them.

Our training sessions were more like a workshop with a lot of interaction which made it unique. It was a great opportunity to really learn from each other through our experiences and stories. We completed the first four Biblical Truth Foundations. Plans were in place to finish the rest of the foundations over the coming weeks, but the Corona virus situation changed all that.

What does it mean to be made in the image of God?

Genesis Design, however, continues to impact their lives as CareGivers and in turn the children that they teach. Their examples are key to helping the children become CycleBreakers.
