We are very grateful to God for the opportunity given us to share God’s Truth through Genesis Design at Wakisa Ministries.
Wakisa Ministries is a Crisis Pregnancy and Counselling centre in Uganda founded by Vivian Kityo. Its aim is to bring the young women with unwanted pregnancies, traumatized, confused and rejected, to CHRIST by offering unconditional love and the message of the Cross.
With the opportunity to teach Genesis Design, I designed a three-month program for the teenagers, ensuring that the key messages from each foundation are taught based on our Genesis Design LifeHouse.
In the beginning I taught twenty-four (24) girls. However, along the way, some of the girls were discharged while new ones were admitted.
LESSONS TAUGHT
OCTOBER 2020
Five lessons were taught, and they include: Introduction to Genesis Design, What is your story, Look in the Book (The Bible), Made in God’s Image – Cool addons and Made in God’s Image – He knows me, He loves me, based on Genesis 1:1-27.
The Key messages taught were from Foundation 1 and 2:
Each person’s life story and experiences are determined by the many voices around them, but the one and only voice to follow is the Word of God.
We are made in the Image of God. We do not need to identify with the trends and standards of this world in order to be recognized. God knows and loves us.
NOVEMBER 2020
Three lessons were taught and they include:Made in God’s Image – My value comes from God, Made in God’s Image – Respect and Made in God’s Image – Respond, based on Genesis 1:27. The key messages were from Foundation 2:
Being made in God’s Image means that our value comes only from God.
We are all the same before God.
We should respect fellow images of God and respond in a proper way when others do not show us value.
DECEMBER 2020
Only one lesson, “Dreams” was taught in December based on Genesis 1:28. The key messages were from Foundation 3 and 4:
God wants us to use our sexuality and abilities to bring blessing to everyone.
You can grow up to become responsible adults who are walking with the Lord.
You can grow up to have the families you desire because it is in your God-given design.
JANUARY 2021
So far, two lessons have been taught in January and they include: Sex is for Marriage – The meeting of Adam and Eve and Sin, based on Genesis 1:27-31; 2; 3 and John 3:16.
The key messages were from Foundation 5, 6 and 7:
God made sure that Adam was ready before bringing Eve to Him. Before getting involved in a sexual relationship, I should be ready.
Through Adam and Eve’s disobedience, sin came into the world and changed what God had planned for man, but God’s plan of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ enables us to live as redeemed people in a broken world. You can repent of your sins, believe and accept the Lord Jesus Christ and walk with Him.
We pray and believe that Genesis Design will help the girls to know their true identity and value regardless of what has happened in their lives, and that they will desire to follow Christ.
