INTRODUCTION
It is with hearts overflowing with thanksgiving and praise that we circulate this report. We can truly say with boldness, conviction and joy: there is abundant evidence that the Lord has been with us. We believe He will continue to walk with us as we serve Him taking up our cross daily and following Him.
STAFF UPDATE
Carolyn Geno returned to work after her maternity leave and brought with her a beautiful little boy, Theo. Her contribution to lesson development was seriously missed. Our other staff members continue to immensely contribute positive insights into the lesson development. We would not have been able to achieve what we have so far without them.
At the HQTF, Paulus and Rosalia are a real blessing in keeping the facilities clean and in good shape. Maintenance of the buildings and infrastructure are constant demands and we realise that some infrastructure must start giving in as we’ve been here for 21-years.
Finally, today, we gave up on our quest to get work permits for Caesar and Sharon. All the needed applications were completed and submitted over 18 months ago, and we’ve never even received an acknowledgment from the Namibian government. Even the agent we hired to chase the applications told me there is nothing more she can do and suggested she reimburse the fee we paid.
LESSON DEVELOPMENT
The latest publication has just been released. By visiting the website, www.genesisdesign.org/resources, you’ll see the progress made in this significant area of the ministry. We praise the Lord for His faithful provision in so many areas.
We also released The Fortress teaching aid. These are sets of 5 separate boards which visually teach Foundation 5 of the Genesis Design LifeHouse.
His non-stop provision of the needed funds to print and produce high quality products, astound us. We bow in humble adoration to our all- sufficient God as HE alone is worthy.
INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT
After much prayerful consideration and the approval of the Namibian board members, we replaced the electrical hot water supply with solar. This was not an easy switch over but very worthwhile. All the rooms are now supplied with solar hot water 24/7. A donor made the initial funding available and our outside handyman decided not to charge us for his labour. God is so good.
The security of the northern wall boundary was completed and it looks good. Another vulnerable area where people could easily walk on the neighbours’ roofs and climb over the wall into our property, was also serviced with brand new razor wire.
Currently it is extremely hot in Namibia. Even today, the temperature reached 38ºCelcius. The small piece of lawn, and new plants we bought, were being burned to death by the sun. A faithful member of the Council, provided the materials and a worker, to install a large area with sun netting. It has reduced the overall temperature in the courtyard and the plants are doing well. It also provides peaceful shade for us to enjoy.
MINISTRY TRIP TO THE USA AND GERMANY
Sylvia and Jos realised they are not sweet 16 anymore! Days and weeks of sleeping in different beds and flying or driving from here to there, is much more taxing than it used to be.
However, His grace is sufficient to do it joyfully, because we’ve seen and heard in reports the marvellous impact the truth of Genesis Design has had on so many people.
They personally experienced the Lord’s absolute provision and care of them again, while travelling. They stand in awe of our God and praise Him for hearing their prayers and providing their needs. They also received great spiritual input and were able to minister to His people in a wonderful way, in different settings. He is able and willing to work in the lives of people, when we are ready to be used by Him.
